The Labour Party National Chairman Comr. Mike Omotosho while addressing newsmen at the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja the Federal Capital Territory on Tuesday 10th July 2018 said Ex-Governor Mimiko and sacked ex-Party Chairman A. A. Salam impersonated the Labour Party at coalition for selfish interest
‘’the false commitment of our dear party to this unholy alliance is therefore the fiery imaginations and fictions of A. A Salam and the former governor of Ondo state, Dr. Mimiko. It is born out of their hurriedness to mortgage the Party for their selfish political end. The former governor has now become politically irrelevant and is therefore looking for a platform or an avenue to use the Labour party to negotiate for the position of Vice president of Nigeria’’.
The party’s National chairman said this while disassociating the party the purported coalition with other parties to form a grand alliance saying that ‘’the leadership of the party has not in any way been consulted, neither has there been any form of meeting or agreement between the party and any other political party in Nigeria’’.
He described the coalition as; ‘’the coalition is a gathering of questionable persons, whose characters and pedigrees could not stand the integrity tests conducted by the Nigerian polls, but looking for a platform to bury their shame’’. He indulged the general public to disassociate themselves from such individuals as any dealing with them would be perilous.
