Former Liverpool defender Jamie Caragher has expressed his concerns about Ademola Look man stating he believes the young forward is facing problems at Everton.
The England U21 forward is yet to start a Premier League match for the mersyside club this season.
Ademola Lookman of Everton challenges for the ball during the Everton v Gor Mahia friendly match at Goodison Park on November 6, 2018 in Liverpool, England.
Lookman was once again only used as a substitute at Goodison Park, as Marco Silva looked to inject some fresh energy into his side’s attack late on at Anfield.
Lookman has still not started a Premier League game for Everton this season, with the youngster only being used as a weapon off the bench.
And Carragher fears that Lookman’s consistently bright cameo performances are making Silva only see him as an impact substitute.
“I think sometimes the problem for players coming on is that they do so well when they come on that you think they’re better as a sub than a starter,” Carragher said of the £11 million forward.
“He always seems to make an impact when he comes off the bench.”
Lookman was unable to help Everton pick up a result at Liverpool, as their pain against their rivals continued. Everton looked set to pick up a credible point after an excellent performance against their near neighbours, but a freak last minute goal meant that Lookman ended up on the losing side.
Everton’s defeat was crushing, after the effort that they had put into the match, but their performance was encouraging. Lookman’s next hope of starting comes in midweek, when Silva’s side take on Newcastle United.
